Nature is waking up, the air is clear and the mountains are calling. With light packs, our dog and The Brew Company's Coffeebrewer, we set off. This time, an outdoor coffee break is firmly on the itinerary.
Spring returns to familiar trails
Our destination is a small, secluded reservoir in the canton of Glarus. We had been there on New Year's Day, when deep snow meant we could only reach it on snowshoes. Now we want to experience the trail in spring.
In the evening, we pack our things and drive the camper to Glarus. We park in a small car park beside the trail, ready to set off first thing in the morning.
The night is more restless than expected. Wind whistles around the camper, and strong gusts make it sway gently. Our dog struggles to settle, and we get little sleep too.
A little tired but full of anticipation, we set off in the morning. Around six kilometres and 700 metres of ascent lie ahead. At first, the sun shines on the snow-covered peaks. The higher we climb, the thicker the clouds become. Eventually, a fine drizzle sets in.
A break with a view — and coffee
At the reservoir, it's time for a snack, water for the dog and our coffee. We've brought the Coffeebrewer: a compact pouch containing coffee and a built-in filter.
We add hot water and leave the coffee to brew. To us, it tastes aromatic and rounded, without a bitter note. After the restless night and the climb, we especially enjoy this pause.

That's exactly what we like about it: little effort, hardly any space in the backpack and a proper coffee break in the mountains. On this hike, the Coffeebrewer was a companion we'd happily pack again.
A little moment that stays with us
The coffee is one of our happy memories of this hike, along with the changeable weather, the lake and the time with our dog.
